Doug Kawamura jointed Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP in 2002, after serving clients for over 25 years in various CPA organizations.
Doug’s first role at Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP was Director of Estate and Income Planning. In 2004, Doug was promoted to Partner. He has an extensive background in the corporate, partnership, trust and individual income taxation and serves manufacturers, wholesale distribution companies, real estate investors, and professional organizations. Doug provides services to the Firm’s not-for-profit organizations and income and estate planning for high net worth individuals. He also works closely with the Firm’s cost segregation engineers to provide clients with cost segregation services and reports.
Doug is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs. He is the Past President of the Estate Planning Council of San Gabriel Valley and an active member in the Glendale Estate Planning Council. He is also an active member of the Audit Committee for the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in downtown Los Angeles. His involvement includes meeting with the outside auditor and interacting with the other members of the audit committee. Doug has served as Sub-Chairman of the Taxation Committee for the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Society of CPAs and was an officer of the Los Angeles Estate Planning Council.
His community volunteer efforts include time devoted as an Eagle Scout Advisor for members of Troop 501 in La Canada and his involvement as the Senior Trustee with the New Life Christian Church in Glendale.
