Carla joined Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP in 1998 and became a Partner in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in private industry for 20 years in accounting positions covering various industries and different countries. Carla immigrated from Denmark in 1990.
During her career, Carla has developed an expertise in accounting, auditing, business consultation and taxation of small to medium sized businesses with an emphasis on construction and non-profit organizations. She also has an expertise providing clients with QuickBooks accounting software consulting services and performing pension plan audits. Carla was instrumental in helping the firm create its California Enterprise Zone niche and specialty.
Carla is active in the community. She is a member and past treasurer of Soroptimist International and she is a consultant to the Small Business Development Center where she also facilitates various workshops. Carla is a member of the Firm’s Accounting and Auditing Committee and Construction Committee. Carla is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Furthermore, Carla is a member of California Association of Enterprise Zones and also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
A graduate of San Diego State University, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting, cum laude. She has been certified since 2000. Before immigrating to the US, Carla studied German, French and English in Denmark and received a certificate in business in those languages (“Erhvervssproglig Korrespondent Eksamen”).
