Originally from Denmark, Carla Kuhns firmly believes in collaboration with the client to help reach identified financial goals. She uses her expertise in accounting, auditing, business consultation and taxation of small to medium sized businesses to streamline processes. As an expert with QuickBooks accounting software, those that work with Carla receive valuable insight and results, while also learning tips and tricks to navigate the software program. Carla’s areas of expertise are varied, with emphasis on construction, not-for-profits, and QuickBooks consulting. Carla also performs audits of employee benefit plans and filings of 5500s and has knowledge of AICPA, ERISA, DOL and IRS requirements relating to these plans.
With more than 20 years in private industry in accounting positions covering various global industries, Carla is well versed in US and International financial practices. She joined Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP in 1998, and became a Partner in 2009. She was instrumental in helping the firm create its California Enterprise Zone niche and specialty, and is a member of the firms tax and construction committees.
Carla is passionate about serving in her community and helping others. She is a member and past president of Soroptimist International, member of Rotary, director for the local chamber, board member of a local charter school and past consultant to the Small Business Development Center. Carla is a member of the California Society of CPAs, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Beta Gamma Sigma. She holds a certificate in business in German, French and English (Korrespondent eksamen). Carla taler også dansk.
Carla received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting cum laude from San Diego State University.
