"Giving our clients the benefit of specific niche experience and knowledge."

Consulting with clients about their issues and visions is Dave’s passion.  If it involves international tax, even more so.  It's not about him; it's what he can do for his clients. Dave brings processes and people together to deliver practical solutions focused on his clients' needs resulting in peace of mind.

Originally a student of philosophy at UCSD, Dave switched gears early in his education to the field of accounting, where he could still combine his passion for logic with his love of numbers.  Dave combines his controller/CFO experiences in construction with his public accounting experience to assist his clients build a strong foundation towards the realization of their visions.

At Hutchinson and Bloodgood, Dave benefits from the support of a strong team and focuses on giving his clients the value-added services he couldn’t bring them on his own. Dave comments, “The Company really stays at the forefront of what’s happening and pushes us to do the same.  I’ve never worked for a company that gets right behind what the team member wants to do. It’s really refreshing.   At H&B, we partner with our team members to facilitate and encourage professional and personal growth.  This sense of partnership carries over to our clients.”

Dave thrives personally from the benefits of living in beautiful San Diego, where he’s resided since 1964. Taking frequent walks on the beach with his wife, camping in the mountains of San Diego County, and RVing allows him to take in all our country’s majesty. He is also involved in his community through volunteer work with his church and as a member of the choir.   Dave Thompson brings vision to every area of his life.

Testimonials:

  • Balu Masti - VP Engineering & USA / North American Business Development
I have used Dave's services for a few yrs now and have been quite happy with the quality of his work. I particularly like the close attention to detail. When Dave is not sure of something, he will go back, do his due diligence and only then give you a recommendation. I highly recommend Dave for your tax needs. In my situation, confronted with not-so-simple international taxation, Dave dug deep and did a lot of research and came up with appropriate, detailed recommendations. Dave understands global income very well from US IRS taxation point of view.
